Statehood Day Reception
March 1
March 1, 1867, Nebraska became the 37th state in the Union. To celebrate, the Nebraska Society hosts a happy hour reception on, or near March 1.
Nebraska at the Nats
Another annual event, “Nebraska at the Nats” is a great way to kick-off summer in D.C. The event brings together new summer interns from Nebraska with Nebraska Society members to help forge connections. The Society reserves a block of seats for an early season Nationals Baseball game and we all enjoy some peanuts and Cracker Jack.
Taste of Nebraska
The “Taste of Nebraska” is an annual fundraiser to support our internship program. Proceeds will benefit Nebraska college students or graduates who intern in the Washington, D.C. area. Guests can enjoy Nebraska favorite “tastes,” imported from Nebraska including Runzas and Valentino’s pizza!
Distinguished Nebraskan
Every year since 1963, the Nebraska Society recognizes a fellow Nebraskan for his or her service and accomplishments to our state and nation. Former recipients have been political leaders, philanthropists, cultural icons, and businessmen and women.
